i checked out chatxplanet.com. i was nothing but chat rooms and didn't seem to have anything to do with IRC
software. i'll try pidgin instead.

Thanks, made my life so much easier, a one click, enter nick and shazam, connected, the way computing should be, for those of us technically challenged.

i like to have my messaging software seprate from my web browser so that i can chat even if i'm not surfing the web. but thanks for the heads up telanus.
