Welcome to the dedicated Commodore 64 library. Because of the amount of material and love felt for this Computer I have decided to dedicate a little section all to the wonderful C64.
Released by Commodore International in 1982 it was the successor to the Vic-20 and Commodore MAX machine. Its graphics and sound performance was superior to the IBM-compatable computers of that time. Effectionatly know by many as the "breadbox" or "bullnose" due to the shape and colour of the first version of its casing. During its lifetime it sold a staggering 30 million units making it the best-selling single personal computer model of all time. During its peek years it was selling 400,000 units a month and held approx 40% share of the entire market. Approx 10,000 software titles were released for the Commodore 64, it is also credited with popularising the computer demo scene.
I got mine in 1983 and fell in love immediatly, today I have managed to collect every version made. The C64 has a huge live following today, fans still create games, demos and keep it alive. Some say it will never die.
