OLD COMPUTERS.
TIMELESS MEMORIES.
WORTH KEEPING.
The Old Computer is a labour of love — an ever-growing home for the machines, games, manuals and digital history that shaped us. Hosting, maintaining and protecting a collection like this takes real resources. Your Unlimited upgrade helps us keep it here for the next generation.
FOR PRESERVATION. NOT PROFIT.
All money contributed goes directly towards the upkeep and preservation of this website: hosting, storage, bandwidth, maintenance and protecting our retro archive. The Old Computer is not run to make a profit.

// NEED TO KNOWGOOD QUESTIONS.
GOOD QUESTIONS.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS.
Everything you need to know before you upgrade. Still stuck? Our forum help pages have more details.
Is Unlimited a monthly subscription?
No. Your Unlimited account is a lifetime upgrade with no monthly or annual membership renewal. The starting contribution is £15 through a digital artwork purchase.
Do I need an existing account first?
Yes. Register in The Old Computer forums and confirm your email. Sign in to 72PinConnectors using those same account details so the upgrade is applied to the right member.
Why am I buying digital artwork?
Our Unlimited upgrade is linked to the purchase of original digital artwork at our partner site, 72PinConnectors. You receive the artwork and, after downloading it, your Old Computer account is upgraded automatically.
When will my upgrade be active?
Normally as soon as your successful purchase has been downloaded from My Orders at least once. Then sign out and back in to the ROMs or Emulators section. If your status does not change, please consult our support FAQ.
Can I contribute more than £15?
Absolutely. 72PinConnectors has several digital artworks at different prices, including a £100 supporter option. Choose the artwork and amount that feels right to you — the lifetime membership benefit is the same.
Where does the money go?
Every contribution goes towards running and preserving The Old Computer — server hosting, storage, bandwidth, maintenance and caring for the collection. This is a preservation project, not a for-profit business.
