I recently decided to upgrade the main PC again (Work Rig) and although I have played with
water cooling in the past I never fully committed my work machine to it. Well I decided that I would now do the job right, the pictures and following spec will explain more.
The highlighted components are the upgraded ones :-
Case : Corsair Obsidian Series 700D Full tower
PSU : Seasonic X-850 Modular, 80 PLUS Gold, EPS 12V
Mouse : Logitech G500
Keyboard : Filco Majestouch with Keycap Mods
Displays : 2 x Viewsonic VP 201b
CPU : Intel i7 2700K (OCed 5GHz)Cooling : XSPC Rasa 750 RX360 Water Cooling KitRam : 2 x 4GB Corsair Dominator GT 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz CAS 9Motherboard : Asus P8 P67 Deluxe
BlueRay : LG
Display Card : MSI 1536MB GeForce GTX 580 Twin Frozr II/OC
Primary Disk : 120GB SSD Corsair Force Series GT SATA III - 6Gb/s (Boot)Second Disk : Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (Apps & Games)
Storage Array : 3 x WD 3000GB Green in Raid 5 Array (storage)
OS : Windows 7 Professional + Mods
I had good fun building up the new
water cooling loop. The idle and load temps are significantly lower than before. In fact I can run the rig at 5GHz overclock at 50% load 24/7. That was not possible with the old cooler.
