Have you say about advert in the forums

As many of you now know, as an experiment, I have placed a single advert in the fourms just after the first post of each page. I have done this to see if any revenue can be generated from having it here. Personally I dont like adverts any more than anyone else but I know what it takes to run the site and i also want to be able to expand our server and its bandwidth as much as possible. This is only possible with funding.

I also appreciate that most of you will have an opinion on this matter and I really do care what you guys think, after all, the forum is only here because of all of you. For this reason I have prepared this poll for you to vote in.

After the vote and after a sensible duration of time i will review any revenue made from the advert in relation to your opinions and submit to you all the findings.

For now please vote and also add a post or comment to argue your case. For now i will not cast any vote.

The ads may be annoying to look at, but if they can generate revenue to help keep the site operational then by all means I would say to keep them.

If everyone takes an honest look at what the site offers, they would have to agree. The number of roms offered, the number of systems offered, the upgrades that you have made to the site to make what is here available to make it as enjoyable as possible to those that come here to use what is available.

The bigger the site becomes, and the upgrades needed to accommodate the growing size of the site needs revenue to keep the site alive. So my vote is yes, if it can generate revenue for you to assist in keeping the best retro site alive. :good:

I hate Adverts with a passion but at the same time we need this site to live. Just don't flood the forums with adds and i will stop complaining

1 per page i can live with.

I don't mind the ads, they do help generate money for the site.

One question though: could we try text ads instead of the picture ones? 3-4 text ads lined up side-by-side or in a square wouldn't take as much space vertically, therefore take less time to scroll through.

Unfortunatly the adds are random, sometimes text and sometimes graphic or video.
