Is there anyway to "flash" MAME onto my AppleTV Hardware? The Slver Series 1 has a hard drive that in the past I was able to add various applications. I can't imagine there is not a simple solution to this. Thanks.

I would also be interested.

A year ago I experimented with mods on a 1st gen AppleTV. It was far more difficult than I imagined because most of the guides and required files have long since disappeared. OSMC is pretty easy to install but I found it too buggy. Eventually I got XBMC sideloaded so the original AppleTV interface is intact with XBMC as a menu option. I even played with installing OS X Tiger onto it, but it was extremely slow and without audio it was pretty useless.

I thought for sure one of these would make a decent emulation box, but my investigation lead nowhere.

If you get any solutions to this, please post here.

I have not had a go at using an Apple TV. The past few years the Raspberry Pi is the go to tiny computer of choice for emulation.

I would not do something with such a device, knowing their policy regarding proprietary software
