I registered a IRC Channel if you guys want to chat IRC style :D

1 - Download a IRC Client for OS.
For Windows, I recommend ChatX and AdiIRC or if you wish to pay mIRC. Other clients are available for different platforms and OS.

2 - Connect to the Chat4All IRC Server at irc.chat4all.org

3 - Once connected, make sure you register your nick on the server so no one else can use it by going to your IRC client and in the message box typing /msg nickserv register password emailaddress with the password of your choosing and the emailaddress you would like the confirmation sent to.

4 - Go to your E-Mail and follow the instructions in the message sent to you.

5 - Once registered go to your IRC client and in the message box type /msg nickserv identify yourpassword to login officially. (You can set it up in your client to do this automatically when you connect to the server.)

6 - Join our IRC Channel by typing /join #theoldcomputer

7 - Enjoy!

Alzabo could you also recommend the best client for users to use as well, that way they can get up and running quickly from reading this post.

IRC was made for guys like you. It was most popular when dialup was the norm. Super lightweight chat.
