MAME 0.141, 0.142 and 0.142 Updates

Mame section has had a major update. Mame 0.141u1, 0.141u2, 0.141u3 and 0.141u4 have been added to the database as has MAME 0.142u1, 0.142u2, 0.142u4 and0.142u5. Mame 0.142u3 is missing at the minute until I get the dat rebuilt.

We have also added the brand new Mame 0.143 upgrade set. All of these are available at the MAME Roms Download section.

I personally honestly don't see the point of all those ROMsets (unless they're upgrade sets only, and even so) because under most conditions (most being 95%+ of MAME users) most users would only want the latest and greatest ROMset.

Or am I dumb?

Not Dumb just a little confused

We host the entire 0.137 set for those users that want an older set. We also host the entire 0.141 set. After this, 0.142, 0.143 sets are just upgrade sets that you add to the 0.141 set to keep up to date. At some time in the future we will update and host the entire 0.144 set for example and after that then just upgrade sets again.

The 0.37b5 set is specifically for handheld devices like iPhone, iPad, GPX etc

I don't understand why specifically 0.137 is the older romset. And don't forget I suggested 0.37b5

I know you did and I am very thankful for the direction. One of the things that makes this site so good is the fact we try to keep everything, like a historical archive. You should see our MAME Emulators section, we make every version of mame we can available just so that users can see what older versions looked like.
