i've been going around to various Wad sites and downloading WAD and pk3 files for single player suklltag use.
i found a wad file that i really like and i thought someone may want to use it in a skulltag server. it's called
Mega-blood. it causes most doom monsters(and other players) to explode in a cloud of blood. here are a few screenshots of the wad in action.

as you can see, this is one awesome wad. the first time i played it i laughed my butt off!
it's great for long distance kill confirmation. and it if you decide to use the skulltag grenade launcher,
it's great for confirming that around the corner kill too. but there is just one catch, this wad increases your processor usage during the bloody explosion and (at least on my 366Mhz cpu) may cause your game to slow down when you get in to a lot of exploding monsters as there is A LOT of blood flying around. from the photos you can see that if the monster is close enough to a vertical surface, it leave quite a mess.
you can get this wad at: http://zut.doesntexist.org/file_list.php?sort=m.
this is a site that is hosted by the owner of: http://www.wadhost.fathax.com/files/.
http://zut.doesntexist.org/file_list.php? is hosted on the owners home connection which has a low bandwidth
and he requests that people don't use this site in getwad or wadseeker. i have also found alot of great wads on this site too so you may want to look through the entire site. one more thing, because this site is hosted from the owners home connection, the owner can't guarantee constant uptime. so if you can't access files one day, try again the next day. this wad will work with any wad that doesn't alter the monsters in any way other than the items that they drop.

That looks cool, I remember a patch for doom like this back in the day, it could even be the same one. We should really try and get the skull tag server up and running.

Sounds cool, but when Zandronum finally comes out of alpha is when I'll start hosting the servers again, simply because Skulltag is finished. Most people don't understand that they have to update to the new server masterlist or they won't be getting all of the servers, especially since the servers one sees when connected through the old Skulltag server masterlist are servers broadcasting to that serverlist and the other servers broadcasting to the Zandronum server masterlist won't be seen on the skulltag server masterlist... it's all quite confusing, which is why I'm waiting for Zandronum to have a final release before I start hosting the server once more. >.>'

Anyway, yea, this looks like a great mod, and I'll be sure to host it. :3

Kherr,

Once you are ready for me to host a dedicated 24/7 server, let me know byt posting here and I will get to work on it. I could make up a PC box and host it in my offce server room.

i found a wad file on the same site that i found megablood that makes megablood look tame.
it's called Extreme-Gore-2.0. i'm warning you now, the following pictures are extremly gorey and may make sensetive people blow chunks on ther monitors or bust there keyboard/head as they pass out.
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090527.png

here we have the first room of MAP01 of doom 2. please note how clean it is.
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090532.png

this photo was taken just after i shot the zombie on the left. i could tell right away that this was going to be one hell of a mess.
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090533.png

this is a few frames later.i hope there isn't a cyberdemon behind all of that blood!!(there wasn't)
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090536.png

kill #2. i waited tell the last secound to take this screenshot to show the full effect of the wad.
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090539.png

i got lucky with this shot. i caught 3 zombies in the hall with 1 shotgun blast. i'll wait a sec for you to clean your breakfast off your screen before i show you the aftermath...........ready?

can you see the screen yet? has you stomache settled down? here is the last screen shot. :D
Screenshot_Doom_20120716_090542.png

can someone call the cleaning crew and tell them that they'll be making time and a half this week.
oh dear, you seem to have passed out again. *sigh* this wad uses more of the cpu than megablood did
during the "splatter" effect. my computer slowed alot during the kills but as i stated before, i have a 366Mhz
cpu. you may not have any trouble. i hope you all have fun with this wad. now go and ....MAKE IT RAIN BLOOD!!!! :chainsaw:

As soon as Zandronum comes out of alpha (which for this team usually means finished copy, they never do betas for some reason) I will have use of that server box. We'll need to install some sort of remote program that will allow me to control the box from here outside of the Zandronum server so that I can take it offline to switch out mods and run other mapsets, etc., so we'll have to work on that when the time comes. I appreciate it, just like I said before HT, be prepared for it to use around 1.5 GB of data per day, give or take 500 MB.

will Zandronum require me to download a new doom engine or will Skulltag ver. 98d still work on the new server?
