Having a problem downloading or using a ROM. Place your questions here.

please help

Im trying to download mame roms so I login, select mame, pick romset .139 and then select my rom that i want to download. Then nothing happens. It takes me to a page with nothing but advertisement and the only link that looks like it could download is for a 7zip program. I have enabled popups and tried on both Firefox and IE. Am I missing something?

You are at the download screen which is a seperate popup page. The download of all roms is zipped, sometimes zip or 7zip or arj or lha. Just go ahead and download it then unzip it if you need to.

same here....
i get a pop up screen with no download link. all i see is a pop up for an i-phone 5.
very frustrating. been here an hour and not downloaded a single rom.... :freakout:

I dont see this happening on my screen, I am trying to copy what you are doing but it seems to be working. Please update me about this if you really cant get to the rom download screen.

same issue. there is no link on any popup page (for the 0.139 roms) that says "Click to Download ROM".

The body of the popup page says:

MAME Mame-0.139 Rom
dkong.zip
[AD]
You are currently Logged in as : Registered User R

I'm registered, logged in, and I tried Safari and Firefox.

Here's the page source. I just changed the number in "setAccount" for privacy.

Maybe this is a java issue? Apple disabled Java; I have the latest – supposedly functional – Java from Oracle installed.

perhaps a popup blocker is causing the issue?

No. The popups are allowed, and the window does pop up. It's just the resulting page has no link. Seems pretty much like a site problem to me, or a browser/platform/java issue. But it's clearly not just me here.

I finally figured out what your problem is metaclam and kernzy... you're both not unlimited members, and the mame 0.139 section is locked to unlimited members only, that's why you can't see the download link. You need to donate in order to download from this section. :hi:
