  TV Series Shoot ....
 


They say everyone is famous for 15 minutes, well heres my 15 ...

Back in April 2002 I was contacted by a Researcher from Outline Productions , a television production company who specialise in real life and fly-on-the-wall documentaries. They said they were interested in featuring myself in a social series looking at modern lifestyles in the UK. Modern culture, beliefs and art. As part of the series, one episode would be looking at today's culture and the rise of video gaming and computing.  The series was called 'How Weird Are You'.

Enter HotTrout and his unfeasible large collection of computer crap.

The following are a series of pictures from the day of filming that took place. May I say for the record how hard this is to do ... I take my hats off to all those who work in TV both in front and behind the camera. Hello to all those in the pictures, you know who you are and a special (leave that alone) to Wellsy.

The show aired on the BBC Choice channel on SKY Digital in 2004 and was repeated again later that year.

(I have no other films comming out in the near future). I am however available for TV appearences, shows, stage and events. :|
 
  Filming Pictures

Filming took place at my house in a large shed that is used to store the computer collection. Most of the machines are actually boxed but came out for the cameras.

Setting up some lighting for a shot.

No that isn't for drying your hair ...... it's a very very hot light ........ now leave that alone wellsy.

A picture of the camera man putting some material onto tape. You can see a Famicom in the foreground and an Atari 2600 heavy six'er on top of the shelf on the right. The large A4 style monitors are off an old networked office WP system.

 

This is a good shot of some of the Commodore Pet series that I have, you can see some Amiga's also in the foreground.


Ahh yes .. the sound man. As luck would have it my brother decided to tune his ZZR 1100 Kawasaki that particular day, much to the annoyment of the sound engineer, he's probably swearing under his breath in the picture. Incidentally, the MIC I was wearing was over £2500. The thing held by the sound guy, that looks like a badger on a stick is in fact .. a badger on a stick .... weird sense of humour sound people.
The entire process took all day from 8:00am in the morning until 7:30pm that evening. All in all it was great fun but very hard work. You do start to feel like a prat after having repeated yourself to the camera for the 7th time ... but practice makes perfect.
