Homemade Arcade Cabinet for Hyperspin (by Stinow)

Hi guys!

Well, the bezel has been made from plexiglass (which unfortunately I didnt cut flawlessly) spraypainted black. But you wont see a scratch, hehe.

The things i fixed today are:
-P1 side button led didnt work, was software issue.
-p1 side button didnt have 1 out of 2 cablea connected, so it didnt work. Lenghned the cable with some connectors in between so it would work.
-p2 button 3 didnt have the right colour, even though its RGB. It appeared there were some paint remains on the center pin on the pacled64. So I carefully scraped it off and yay, it worked!
-front left button didnt have a led fit into it, so I cut off the top of the connector and now it fits, and works .

Lastly any submenu of hyperspin didnt work. Not with joysticks and not with the keyboard or mouse. HS just hung. It appeared to be a bug in my Hyperspin version. So I updated to HS 1.2 and voila, success!

Ohbtw, played my first game yesterday evening!! Megaman 7 rocks.

Currently I still have a few sub-projects that I want to finish before I'm going to make a final movie (with a nicer cam ofcourse):

- Making the coindoor accept €0.50 (or shall I do €2.00 hmmm ). It's not bad earning back the money for the build.
- Coindoor lightbulb replacement (have a 12v now instead of 18v).

When I'm above 0 again on my bankaccount:
- Buy full version MagicEngine (to remove the 05:00 max play time) -- just need to do Dragon Knight 3!
- Buy full version LEDblinky (so the nagscreen will begone)
- Upgrading PC to: i3 2100, 4gb ddr3

So far the small update...

While working on some Java studie I'd thought about writing a quick update so here you go:

Has almost been done. Light bulb replacement was okay, but my PC seems to give a little more than 12v so I think one bulb popped.. will check that later.

P1 is modified so coins a little thinner than €1,00 will go through. Have to see if I can make the entry larger, otherwise people will have to be buying 'Dubai-credits' from me.

Big issue (software-wise) that's still left quite undone:
Per-game artwork, movies and logo don't show yet in Hyperspin. I found out this week that Hyperspin needs to have corresponding file names with each of the above files, including the game names.

So... I'll have to rename every file in order to make it consequent. Most games I download have got loads of extra info in the filename that I don't want to see also in Hyperspin i.e.: gamename - (1998) (makerblabla) [!].zip.

Luckily I -just- came across this awesome tool called BRU or 'Batch Rename Utility' and it's free to use!
So now I'll only have to go through all the dir's doing the following:
* Crop after a (
* Trim
* Replace <space><(> with nothing
* Replace <(> with nothing

And unless a game has a ( intended in it's game name, everything will be O.K.!

That is a long job that I have had to do too many times already. Can I suggest that you look at Flexible Renamer v8.1 or newer. I found it to be easier to use with better boolean searches.
