This website is owned, designed and maintained by one person, namely myself, Hot Trout. As such it requires a lot of effort and money to develop. If you are a Retro Computing or Gaming fan please help me further the cause by making a donation. You can donate as small an amount as you wish, from $1. Hi again guys.  Ive been on an extended holiday for a while. Since the end of April the site has continued to grow and I need to say thanks to everyone that has been very generous with both financial and equipmenr/resource donations.  I plan on adding some new sections to the roms soon.  First will be the new Gameboy Roms section as well as more Sega formats.  Although the forums have got started they still require more regular users.  If you can, please take the time to get involved in the forums and if you wish I would thankfully make good members admins for various sections/formats within the forums.  If interested please let me know.

There have been some additions to the links section and a few minor updates to the roms. I will be on holiday for the next few days so there will be no updates duting that time.  Please continue to post in the forums and enjoy your time on the site.  See you all soon. HT.

The Super Nintendo SNES JAPAN roms section has now been added to the rom library. There are a total of 1508 new SNES roms for you to download and enjoy.  The job to become the largest retro gaming site of all time continues ;)

On another note the Chatroom is now up and running in the forums.

I don't usually care for promoting peoples work on here, but this is an exception.  I stumbled upon this on the web last night.  The prints are by Ben The Illustrator and this one caught my eye.  It has all the old game characters and logos from your past on one very funky poster.

The Super Nintendo SNES USA roms section has now been added to the rom library. There are a total of 787 new SNES roms for you to download and enjoy.  This marks the start of more content updates over the comming weeks.

An update has been made to the Bios Roms section.  It now includes the bios roms required for emulating the Intellivision Console.  I will be adding an Intellivision game roms section to the rom libararies in the near future.

The last few rom sections have been given the cosmetic treatment.  Vic20, Colecovision, Vectrex and MSX sections have all been amended. The forums are now starting to be used well.  There has also been a new banner submitted and is already used in the Atari 5200 and 7800 sections so go take a look.

It has taken a lot of work but as I sit here and listen to Slay retro radio I am pleased to tell you all that a lot of new content has been added. More importantly I have almost finished the rewrite of the website which includes some new graphics.

The Libraries have been overhauled. Amendments have been made to the Activision Arm Patches section as well as the Retro Remakes library.  The Atari Brand Book has been added which when published featured content from my old advertisements library. Bootup screens library was given a new look along with all other older sections. The links section is now complete and looking better.  The Roms and emulators sections have been given a face lift along with the Bios roms, Atari 2600, 5200 and 7800, C64 and C64 Demo sections.

The next few days should see the last sections being updated after which I will start again to add new content in the SNES section.

The work continues to bring this site and its huge infrastructure into link for 2008. Sorry for the delay in more normal updates and activities but this is taking serious time. Hopefully by the end of this I will be able to more easily update and check the site. Just to let you all know, the stats continue to grow week by week. We are not getting over 520,000 page views per month. I am also in the process of finishing the Links section for the last time.

Bare with me, it will all be worth the wait.

As a result of much discussion and emails with users, I have now created a totally new and exciting forums section using Yuku Message Boards. One of our donators Jessica Rose who kindly donated $30 last week is now responsible for six months of add free forums. Please get involved as soon as possible and make it buzz. As many of you have noted. The website is undergoing some serious amendments. All of the pages have been restructured to allow for advertising to be easily placed in key locations. You have my word that although banner and skyscraper advertising is required to keep the site alive I will not be allowing any pop'ups, pop'downs or any other annoying content. I will also not be asking for any payment or forced 'click throughs' before you can use the site or download roms. This site has always and will always be free to you, the users.

An entirly new Commodore Plus4 disk image library has been uploaded. There are a total of 640 disk images, many with several game images. Basically everything ever for the Plus4. Enjoy.

The entire website has been overhauled and given a road test. Every page was updated and spring cleaned. Some clean and non offensive advertising has been secured to help me pay for this. I have also fixed broken and old links as well as missing files.

I have abondned the old link library for a more basic but easily added too version. Please feel free to add your recomended site links to the database.

It's here, no more waiting. I have uploaded the first section of the Super Nintendo or SNES library to the website. EUROPE roms have been added. In the comming days I will continue to add the other sections.

Are you ready for this one, all 900 NES Box Scans are now complete and uploaded. It was a mamoth task but its complete. I hope you enjoy them cause it was a lot of work.

Special thanks to Zedocon, the guy who made this possible. He scanned and organised all of these images in the first place and then sent to me for use. If you see them elsewhere on the web they have been copied from here.

Update 14/01 : OK I am starting the SNES section now. I really really need someone to come up with a new cool Banner for this new section. Remember that this will potentially be the largest ever section of the website so get working asap, best banner (choosen by me) wins and all other banners will be used somewhere on this site. Proposed SNES sections will be all US, all EUROPE, all PublicDomain and all OS and Utils. Approx 3GB.

Well the website traffic continues to grow and grow. The Old Computer Dot Com is now one of, if not the largest retro gaming and ROM site on the web. Alexia rate us as number 68,000 on the entire web.

We are now getting an awesome 12 million hits and nearly 600,000 page views per month.

Just addeda few BBC Bios and Basic roms in the BIOS section. I am trying to further extend this already comprehensive section.

I have made s start to a totally new section dedicated to the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Now in my day I was an arch rival of the speccy, what with being a C64 owner en all. However I have decided to bury the hatchet for this new section.

There will be almost 4800 roms once the library is complete. So please feel free to start downloading.

A small update but Doug Kramer has sent a new banner for use on the website, its been a while since I had any new submissions, so I thought I'd mention it.

Please feel free to submit more banners for 2008, its time the various sections had a little spring clean.

It has been a while since I got time to make a serious update to the ROMs section. So here it is, the (almost) complete Sega Master System Rom section. 432 Sega roms for you to enjoy.
